 Background

Hydrex Group specialises in the short term rental, contract rental and sale of mobile plant and equipment within the rail, industrial, extraction and construction industries. The business is divided into divisions which are supported by a national network of depots, each with a team of dedicated mobile service engineers. Hydrex provides tailored solutions and typical services include specifying and supplying mobile plant, providing trained operators with the necessary licenses maintaining the equipment through a national depot network and ensuring compliance with all health and safety matters. Hydrex has a fleet of over 1,200 machines available from 13 depots nationwide and a total of over 800 employees.

The Issue

After working with the same rental management system for six years, Hydrex began their search for a replacement solution.

The Solution

As well as focussing primarily on plant rental functionality the selected system was required to: handle many different ways of hiring both operated and self-drive machines; run on an SQL-server base; provide complete integration into an established accounting product and demonstrate mature and proven development from an established and robust organisation.
