Background
Skelton Plant Hire was established by Managing Director Tim Skelton in 1988 with the purchase of one machine. Now it is part of the Skelton group of companies consisting of Skelton Plant Hire, Skelton Contractors and Skelton Construction. Skelton Plant Hire now includes a fleet of machines and equipment in excess of 500 items and is a leading supplier to the construction industry in the south east of England.
The Issue
Like many hire companies, Skelton Plant relied on a manual system to track its fleet, but as the company grew the administration and the inevitable paperwork became increasingly more laborious. It became harder to keep track of everything whilst remaining accurate in all aspects of their business.
The Solution
