Part of the well established CWI Group, Wizard Tool Hire in Lenton, Nottingham, has been established to provide both an internal ‘In House’ hire service for the CWI Group, but also to supply a highly professional and competitive external hire operation, providing top quality ‘state of the art’ industrial tools and equipment for both Industry, Construction and for Domestic / D.I.Y requirements.
Wizard Tool Hire has been set up and orchestrated by Managing Director John Cox. Originally from a construction and power tools sales background, John Cox has over twenty-five years experience in the plant and tool hire industry and is acutely aware of what a modern tool hire business should consist of. “It was very exciting to have another opportunity to start a new hire business from scratch. We had a blank sheet of paper and were able to set up the premises exactly how we wanted.”
Wizard Tool Hire has invested over £350,000 in purchasing 'state of the art' equipment including over 350 different items, from a 2.5 ton mini digger to a wallpaper stripper and the range is continually growing.
When choosing suppliers for the Wizard operation, John Cox concentrated on companies with a reputation for quality and efficient backup service which led them to inspHire as their asset management software provider.
Wizard use inspHire Express to track records of all products and customers. An integral reason for choosing inspHire Express was its ability to integrate with Sage which is already used throughout the CWI group of companies.

Weekly printouts show the current location of equipment, and if a customer contacts us we can tell them instantly what products they have on hire. We can use the database to generate mailshots and we are going to develop the system so that it can track servicing requirements. We already have a computer link in our workshop.
