Event Hire was established in May 2005, operating from an 8,000 sq ft
warehouse in Walsall, West Midlands. With a comparatively small stockholding and a turnover of £250k in the first year of trading, the operation and financial records were done manually.
With the dramatic growth of the business during the second year, it was obvious to Event Hire that they needed an established system to control all hire stock, forward bookings, delivery and collections, invoicing, financial and customer records. They had managed an event hire division for a large international company prior to setting up Event Hire, where they had used a bespoke inhouse software system to run all aspects of the business, so they had a clear idea of the key points they were looking for when researching potential software systems to implement.
