Another Successful Showman’s Show

A fantastic 2 days at Newbury Showground have been and gone and we can certainly say, The Showman’s show didn’t disappoint! Visitors came from far and wide to see a glimpse of the latest equipment that over 450 exhibitors had to offer. Recently, we wrote about the top reasons to visit The Showman’s Show. Well, now the event has passed, we’d like to share our highlights and give you a feel of what we got up to.

On Stand 70

From the moment the doors opened, Stand 70 was buzzing. We welcomed visitors to the stand with all that is new within the system. With lots of interest in inspHire and demo’s in full swing, visitors were asking plenty of questions and eager to discover exactly how inspHire would fit into their current business processes. With a number of portable toilet and mobile welfare hire businesses in attendance, naturally our route planning functionality and servicing module encountered a lot of interest. Other hot topics on the stand included; accounting and finance integrations, especially our brand new integration with Xero.

Visitors were also impressed with Business Intelligence Dashboards and Smartview Remiders. Dashboards gives users a snapshot of all important business information, presented in eye-catching charts and graphs, simplifying business analysis and decision making. Also, with Smartview reminders prompting users of exactly what jobs they need to complete when they log in to the system, visitors could envisage how this would improve their efficiency and productivity.

It was a pleasure to welcome some familiar faces to the stand. Mark Taylor, Head of Sales, particularly enjoyed holding a training session on inspHire CRM with Central Presentations. “It was great to catch up with customers at The Showman’s Show. Being able to demonstrate new features and show them how they could be getting more out of their system was a huge positive” said Mark.

Out & About

The Showman’s Show brings the events industry together, which makes for a great event as there are a wide variety of creative and eye-catching stands on display, all with something different to offer. Every year, show organisers present awards to the businesses they judge to have the best stands. The categories are; up to 10m, 10-20m, over 20m and the exhibition hall. Congratulations to all of this years’ winners, especially the overall winner, The Tipi Company.

Whilst taking the opportunity to explore the showground we decided to take a look at what a few of our customers had on display. It was great to see the guys from Hawthorn, Generator Power and Power Logistics, just to name a few. Also, congratulations to Power Logistics for winning The Showman’s Show Green & Innovation Award.

Campfire Sessions

Over the two days there were a vast array of campfire sessions, each tackling different industry topics, trends and issues. One topic of particular interest at the moment is, the change to GDPR laws and what businesses must do to be prepared for such a big change in data protection legislation. The EHA held a very interesting session, ‘Is the Events Industry ready for GDPR?’. Philip Allot spoke about the challenges businesses are going to face and what they can do to overcome them. He told us how new laws will change marketing, HR, recruitment, payroll, sales, site security and the general storage of personal data. The importance of a clear and concise Privacy Statement as well as Terms & Conditions was also discussed.

‘How to Successfully Geo-Clone Your Event’ with a panel of experts was also a good listen. This covered what businesses need to do when it comes to broadening the horizons of a successful event and moving it to numerous locations throughout the world. This got us thinking and inspired some discussion amongst the team about the functionality within inspHire that supports companies when it comes to replicating events. Using inspHire you are able to replicate a contract, including all of the equipment, accessories and contractors, making it easy to geo-clone your event.

Another incredibly interesting session was with MP James Heappey, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Events. Entitled ‘An Event Surgery with James Heappey MP’, he covered all of the latest legislative changes the events industry might need to know about as well as answering any questions and concerns people had.

A big thanks to everyone who came to see us on Stand 70 and The Showman’s Show team for putting on yet another spectacular event. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate all of our latest developments and to take a look at all of the exciting new equipment businesses have got to offer. Until next year!
